چکیده
Having a common embryologic origin with the pulmonary veins (PVs), left atrial posterior wall (LAPW) is considered to be source of non-PV triggers that facilitate maintenance fibrillation (AF). However, benefits electrical isolation (PWI) still debated contradictory data originating from different ablation approaches. . We report distribution in LAPW area AF patients undergoing repeat ablation. Consecutive catheter between 2015 and 2022 were included this analysis. PVs isolated first. Next, high-dose isoproterenol challenge (up 30μg/min) was used disclose PW by moving circular mapping along down level coronary sinus, which targeted using additional RF energy. defined lower part as line joining inferior borders PV-encircling lesions sinus. The endpoint achieve isolation, documented absence any activity PW. Of 10,390 ablations performed during specified time period, 5843 (56.2%) had mapped ablated area. Triggers seen 3809 (65.2%), 2028 (34.7%) focal all over including 1519 (26%) cases. All for Figure 1 demonstrates arising Ectopic large number Thus, operators should consider extending include maximize PWI.

Left Atrial Appendage Isolation in Patients With Longstanding Persistent AF Undergoing Catheter Ablation: BELIEF Trial.
BACKGROUND Longstanding persistent (LSP) atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most challenging type of AF. In addition to pulmonary vein isolation, substrate modification and triggers ablation have been reported to improve freedom from AF in patients with LSPAF. OBJECTIVES This study sought to assess whether the empirical electrical isolation of the left atrial appendage (LAA) could improve succes...
متن کاملLeft Atrial Anatomy in Patients Undergoing Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation.
Background: Left atrial anatomy is highly variable, asymmetric, irregular and three-dimensionally unique. This variability can affect the outcome of atrial ablation. A catalog of anatomic varieties may aid patient selection and ablation approach and provide better tools for left atrial ablation. Methods: We analyzed computed tomography scans from 514 patients undergoing left atrial ablation. Im...
متن کاملAssociation Between Left Atrial Stiffness Index and Atrial Fibrillation Recurrence in Patients Undergoing Left Atrial Ablation.
BACKGROUND Atrial fibrillation (AF) is associated with significant abnormalities of left atrial (LA) systolic and diastolic function. This study describes a novel measure, LA stiffness index, that estimates LA diastolic function and its association with clinical outcomes of catheter ablation. METHODS AND RESULTS A total of 219 AF patients referred for ablation (59% paroxysmal, mean CHA2DS2VAS...
متن کاملSafety of continuous periprocedural rivaroxaban for patients undergoing left atrial catheter ablation procedures.
BACKGROUND This study aimed to evaluate the safety of continuous periprocedural rivaroxaban administration during left atrial radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in comparison with uninterrupted oral vitamin K antagonist administration. Data about the use of rivaroxaban in the setting of left atrial RFA procedures are lacking. METHODS AND RESULTS The study cohort included 544 patients (mean age, 63...
متن کاملUtility of nongated multidetector computed tomography for detection of left atrial thrombus in patients undergoing catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation.
OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to determine whether multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) is able to exclude left atrial appendage (LAA) thrombus in patients referred for catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (CAAF). BACKGROUND MDCT is commonly used to render pulmonary vein and left atrial anatomy before CAAF. Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) is also often performed before t...
